Jocelyn Moore — winner of the 2021 Region 1 Scholarship!
Our Region 1 Scholarship winner this year is Jocelyn Moore from the Rancho California Arabian Horse Association.
Jocelyn plans are to attend University of California – Berkeley, majoring in Environmental Economics & Policy.
Jocelyn has been involved with several activities within her High School. First, she started a group that promotes equestrian activities and competition at her High School. She has also been part of a project that includes a movement of students helping to resolve global water issues. Last, Jocelyn is involved as a volunteer in a group that strives to empower young women through self-acceptance and awareness.
Along with numerous awards for academic achievement, Jocelyn has received many equestrian related awards in both dressage and equitation.
Jocelyn spends her time with RCAHA assisting the Youth Group in volunteering and fundraising. Her volunteer duties have included working at horse shows and horse camps. She has also helped organize raffles and sell tickets for raise funds. Currently she is participating in the Team Tournament.

Each year Region One awards educational scholarships to deserving students.
Applicants must be members of an AHA club in Region One
Each application is carefully reviewed by the Scholarship Committee of REGION ONE.
Applications are based on the following criteria:
25% upon involvement in the Arabian industry 50% upon grade point average.
Official Transcripts Required
10% upon the essay each applicant must submit with their application
5% upon extracurricular equine activities
5% upon extracurricular school &/or community activities
5% upon personal references
Scholarships are awarded annually, preceding the school year for which they must be used.
Upon notification of enrollment, a check from the scholarship fund will be sent to the college/university by
Region One to be applied to educational expenses in the recipient’s behalf.
